FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


General Questions

Q: What is the deadline for registering?

A: You can register up until the day before the seminar, or you can register at the door the day of the seminar. Keep in mind that if you register after about 4:00 the day before the seminar, we won’t be expecting you and will not know about your registration or payment (if applicable).


Q: I registered the day before the seminar, but the form says payment is due at least two days prior to the seminar. Can I still attend?

A: Yes. We understand that you may not be able to provide payment until after the seminar. However, please be sure you follow up on your invoice and get it paid.


Q: I accidentally missed the seminar due to a meeting conflict (or maybe I forgot!). Can I get a refund?

A: No. Please refer to the Refund and Cancellation Policy.


Q: Why can’t you accept my State of Montana pro card as a form of payment?

A: It has something to do with intra-agency revenues. Using pro cards to pay other agencies doesn’t transfer money properly. We recommend you initiate an inter-unit journal (IUJ).


Q: I will need proof that I attended the seminar. Will that be provided after I attend?

A: No. The only time we issue an attendance certificate is when someone requests and pays for continuing education credits. If you need a general attendance certificate you’ll have to request one by calling the office at 406.243.5113.



Continuing Education (CE) Credits Questions

Q: Why are my credits an extra $30 on top of the $85 registration fee?

A: The extra $30 covers administrative costs associated with gaining permission to offer all of the credits that we do. It also covers the administrative costs of either submitting your credits online (Montana Board of Realty Regulation) or sending you a certificate in the mail so you can submit your own credits.


Q: When will I receive my certificate in the mail?

A: You can expect to receive your certificate in the mail in the middle of March. If, by the end of March, you have not received your certificate, please call the office at 406.243.5113.


Q: I registered for both Appraisers and Realty credits, but have only received one certificate in the mail. Why haven’t I received both?

A: We process the credits by category and it takes a week or two to get through all of the categories. Therefore, if you have signed up (and paid) for two categories, the certificates will not be arriving at the same time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.


Q: If I missed the seminar due to a conflict, or I just forgot, can I get a refund on my continuing education credits payment because I didn’t go?

A: No. There is a two business day cancellation policy (not including the day of the seminar) outlined in the Refund and Cancellation Policy posted on our website.



Group Registration Questions

Q: How many people constitute a group and do they all have to attend the same location?

A: 5 people is the minimum for getting the group rate of $55 per person. No, the group does not have to attend the same location to get the discount.


Q: Since the group rate is $55, what isn’t included that is included in the regular $85 registration?

A: Group members have access to all the materials at the seminar and lunch. They will not be receiving the one year subscription to the Montana Business Quarterly that is included in the regular $85 registration. If a group member wishes to get the subscription, they can buy it for $35.


Q: How early should I register my group?

A: Of course it would seem the earlier the better. However, in this case, the opposite is true. It is best to be sure that your group is complete before you register. If that means you must wait until a few days before the seminar, so be it.


Q: I am registering a group from my company but one of my people has already registered and paid as an individual. Can I put them in the group to get the group rate.

A: No. Administratively, once individuals are paid, it isn’t feasible to add them to a group. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis if the individual hadn’t previously paid.


Q: I registered my group two weeks ago but now I need to add someone. Can I do this?

A: While we can add non-registered individuals to an existing group, we appreciate receiving all group registrations at one time.


Q: One of my group members is ill or has a conflict. Can I send someone in their place?

A: Yes. You can call us and warn us if the conflict occurs ahead of time. If not, make sure your employee knows to fill out a pink sheet and let us know who they are subbing for at the door.
