Charles E. Keegan III Charles E. Keegan III retired as director of forest industry and manufacturing research in the Bureau of Business and Economic Research and research professor in the School of Business Administration at The University of Montana-Missoula in 2007. For 28 years, his research has emphasized the structure and operations of the forest products industry in Montana and other western states. During the past decade, he has expanded his research to include other sectors of Montana’s manufacturing industries. Professor Keegan has also worked extensively on the feasibility of implementing new forest management regimes related to ecosystem restoration and fire hazard reduction. He has authored over 100 publications and is a Fellow in the Society of American Foresters. Professor Keegan has served on the board of directors of the Forest Products Society, as well as on the board of trustees of the Western Forestry and Conservation Association. He is past chairman of the Inland Empire Section of the Forest Products Society and of the Montana Society of American Foresters. He continues to work with the Bureau on various research projects between fishing trips. |
